QB, Teddy Bridgewater

New Team: Carolina Panthers

Last season, the unthinkable happened.

Future Hall-of-Famer Drew Brees went down with an injury. Every fan, on the edge of their seat, prayed that it wouldn’t be anything drastic, but it was. Brees tore his right thumb and inevitably missed the next five games.

In steps backup Teddy Bridgewater. Bridgewater went on to win all five of those games. He threw for 1,205 yards and nine touchdowns in those five games with only two interceptions. He also rushed for 34 yards as well.

Bridgewater proved in those five games that he is back to the sensation we saw when he was with the Minnesota Vikings. This time around though, the Saints will see Bridgewater twice a year since, as an unrestricted free agent, he signed with the division rival Carolina Panthers.

The Saints, however, replaced Bridgewater with another superstar backup quarterback.

Jameis Winston is arguably the best backing in the NFL. He will also get the opportunity to learn under Brees and Payton for the year. Who knows what the future holds and who will miss who more.
