No. 1 Joe Mixon

There is no way on God’s green Earth that Joe Mixon, in all his time in his Bengals’ uniform, hasn’t once considered what life is like on the other side of the fence.

As A.J. Green has faded away, Mixon has arguably become the Bengals’ most talented player, on either side of the ball. Yet season after a disappointing season, Mixon has had to watch his playoff aspirations burn slowly, like a poorly lit dumpster fire.

Mixon’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season, and barring inhuman, monstrous rookie year from Joe Burrow, you can bet your firstborn child Mixon will be looking to jump ship at the first possible whiff of interest from absolutely any outside team.

Odds are the Saints would be able to get him for not-all-that-much, but given that he has led the AFC in rushing before, his services may not be cheap.

The Saints would be right to be interested; Mixon would be a perfect complement to Murray’s bowling-ball style. The 23-year-old has had back-to-back thousand-yard seasons and scored three receiving touchdowns in 2019.

Most notably, however, is his absolute refusal to let go of the ball; Mixon hasn’t fumbled since 2017. Look for the Saints to show some intrigue in Mixon’s direction should Kamara take off.
