Rumor No. 3: Taysom Hill is the heir at quarterback for the Saints.

If you have been around the Saints for any length of time, you know that future Hall-of-Fame quarterback Drew Brees is nearing retirement. After all, the 41-year-old quarterback will be entering his 20th season in the league.

He even debated signing his new contract this offseason after a loss in the playoffs.

After he signed another contract, that led to the departure of up-and-coming quarterback Teddy Bridgewater. Many people thought that the first-round tender placed on RFA Taysom Hill was a sign that he will be the future in NOLA.

Truth: Taysom Hill is not the quarterback of the present nor of the future. He is a great Swiss Army knife but not a great starting quarterback. The Saints also brought in Jameis Winston for a reason this offseason (hint: He is the heir, hopefully).
