3 rumors New Orleans Saints’ fans shouldn’t buy into in 2020
Rumor No. 3: Taysom Hill is the heir at quarterback for the Saints.
If you have been around the Saints for any length of time, you know that future Hall-of-Fame quarterback Drew Brees is nearing retirement. After all, the 41-year-old quarterback will be entering his 20th season in the league.
He even debated signing his new contract this offseason after a loss in the playoffs.
After he signed another contract, that led to the departure of up-and-coming quarterback Teddy Bridgewater. Many people thought that the first-round tender placed on RFA Taysom Hill was a sign that he will be the future in NOLA.
Truth: Taysom Hill is not the quarterback of the present nor of the future. He is a great Swiss Army knife but not a great starting quarterback. The Saints also brought in Jameis Winston for a reason this offseason (hint: He is the heir, hopefully).
As I said, whenever you have a team that is on top consistently, they begin to be the target of fierce rumors that try to disband the brotherhood that the team focuses on maintaining to continue to win.
