Marcus Davenport, defensive end

Marcus Davenport is going into his third season in the NFL. To say Davenport has improved would almost be an understatement. He has gone from not starting a single game in his rookie year to starting all 13 he played in last season.

He is also set to be the starter again this year. Davenport has also been slowly improving his numbers over the course of two years. He had 4.5 sacks in his first season and 6.0 sacks last season opposite Cameron Jordan.

Could this be the season we see Davenport have his first 10.0 sacks season? For the defensive front to have more success then they had last season, Davenport is going to have to up his sacks and increase his tackles for a loss.

He could also his 20+ hits on the quarterback this season. If he hits all three of those marks then the New Orleans Saints might have the best defensive end combination in the entire NFL. I would love to see Davenport continue to develop greater.

He needs to take a step in the right direction this season.
