Marcus Williams, safety

Last season, Marcus Williams was not the best safety on the New Orleans Saints.

Even though they didn’t play the same safety position, Marcus Williams was in the shadow of upcoming star safety Vonn Bell. Williams would’ve been better than Bell had he stayed around this season.

Since then, Vonn Bell left the team in free agency and accepted a contract with the Cincinnati Bengals. The Saints, on the other hand, signed ex-Eagle safety Malcolm Jenkins to replace Bell opposite Marcus Williams.

Now, Williams is the young, upcoming star at the position for the team. Williams had four interceptions last season. He had four his rookie season and two in his sophomore season. He needs to continue that trend.

However, the slack that needs to be picked up is his tackles, forced fumbles and recoveries, and maybe even pick up a sack or two. If he can do all that, he can prove that he is the safety of the future for the Saints.
