Drew Brees is one of the best to ever suit up in the Black and Gold, and he’s arguably the best quarterback to ever play in the NFL.

The New Orleans Saints, ever since Drew Brees came over from San Diego, have been graced with excellence.  Having made the Pro Bowl the last four consecutive seasons, Brees hasn’t had a double-digit interception season in over three years.

Helping lead them to their only Super Bowl in franchise history, Brees has a handful of team and NFL records, many of which were broken a season ago. With the highest single-game completion percentage, Brees has now dominated the NFL in that category for three straight seasons.

On top of that, he’s not just the franchise leader in passing yards and passing touchdowns but he has some of the highest career totals in NFL history. Those are why Brees was tossed on top FanSided’s New Orleans Saints Mount Rushmore.

“If you just took his figures with his current franchise, his 65,068 yards and 467 TD passes would rank him in the Top 5 in league history. And there have been few signs of slippage for a performer who’s earned an impressive 12 Pro Bowl invitations in 14 seasons and a Super Bowl ring (2009) with this franchise,” FanSided’s Russell Baxter wrote.

As the real Mount Rushmore are four US Presidents, the Saints’ one mimicked that. Kicker Morten Andersen, linebacker Rickey Jackson, and quarterback Archie Manning were all also on the list of Saints’ legends.

The team has a terrific history of high-level athletes.

The Saints are preparing for yet another year of dominating the NFC South. While much of that can be attested to the players that the team has been able to surround Brees with, the one offensive focal point that has stayed a key member since that 2009 championship has been Brees.

Now 41 years old, it’ll be interesting how Brees continues to age in the league and if he can continue his dominance. Having missed five games last season, it’ll also be interesting if he can stay healthy for the entire 2020 season.
