Number Three: The Saints Are In Win-Now Mode

There is almost no doubt about it that 2020 will be Drew Brees’ final season at the helm in New Orleans. The Saints are building a roster around Drew Brees much like they did when the team won their first and only Super Bowl back in 2009.

The Saints need to acquire as much star power as they can to help fill every void the team could have in 2020.

The list of injuries at the opposite defensive end position has proven costly at times and Marcus Davenport could really benefit from a guy like Jadeveon Clowney mentoring him.

Imagine being an opposing quarterback and having Cameron Jordan, Jadeveon Clowney, Sheldon Rankins, Marcus Davenport, Demario Davis, and Zack Baun all rushing you at the same time or punishing you throughout the game. That defense would be lethal.

If the Saints are able to land the talented three-time Pro Bowler in Jadeveon Clowney, they would arguably have the best defense they’ve had since the Dome Patrol which was lead by Hall of Famer Rickey Jackson.

It’s not every day you get an opportunity to land a former number one overall pick to your squad, and the Saints should pull the trigger on Clowney.
