Number One: Ty Montgomery

Ty Montgomery is a veteran running back and wide receiver who will be able to showcase his talents in several different roles in the Big Easy. Much like Taysom Hill, Montgomery can play several positions on the offense including running back, wide receiver, and return specialist.

Montgomery has showcased his abilities to be versatile in his roles throughout his career so far. The former third-round pick of the Green Bay Packers in 2015 has logged 224 carries, 1,035 rushing yards, seven rushing touchdowns, 120 receptions, 982 receiving yards, and three receiving touchdowns.

Adding Montgomery to a Saints offense that already has loads of big-play potential will force Sean Payton into using him in a role nobody thought was possible. Who knows maybe Montgomery turns into a screen specialist for this offense.

Ty Montgomery is easily one of the most underrated signings by the Saints due to his ability to compete for the number three spot in two different positions. He will be directly competing with Dwayne Washington for the number three running back spot and he’ll be competing against a slew of talent for a spot in the receiver room.

Montgomery’s versatility gives him an edge many players don’t have and he could play a big role in New Orleans.
