It goes without much detail that Alvin Kamara has been one of the most decorated and talented running backs after three seasons in Saints’ history.

Alvin Kamara came into the NFL as a third-round pick by the New Orleans Saints back in 2017, and he is already considered to be one of the biggest draft steals of the past decade. He came in a class that changed the entire culture of the Saints’ organization.

Kamara brought some much-needed life to the Saints franchise and is a positive influence on young athletes both on and off the field. Their reign of three straight NFC South titles started when Kamara joined the team.

He’s been a crucial part of the team’s gameplan, and although he had a down year a season ago, he’s been nothing shy of spectacular for the bulk of his career. One of the quieter running backs in the NFL, Kamara speaks with his play on the field rather than chirping over Twitter.

He’s done just that, accumulating three Pro Bowl appearances in all three of his seasons in the league. His continued improvements should see him secure a long-term contract, although the size of said contract won’t be easy to negotiate for either party.

Here are three reasons why the Saints should extend Kamara sooner rather than later.
