The New Orleans Saints need to keep some key people under contract moving into the future, who will be the first to ink a new deal?

The New Orleans Saints love to get ahead of the game when it comes to reserving the talent that they want to keep. For example, the Saints don’t like to let players wait until free agency before they have a new contract offer from the team.

Looking ahead toward an upcoming couple of years, there are quite a few players that the Saints need to get ahead of the game pursuing before other teams come knocking on their door wanting to make them a better offer.

For the 2020 and 2021 free agency, now is the time to offer top talent extensions which are exactly what the team should be doing. According to spotrac.com, the franchise has about $9.5 million in free cap to offer these extensions.

Of course, there are other places that the cap space could be used right now, but this should be a top priority. Here are three players the Saints should be eagerly trying to offer extensions to before the start of the season.
