Number One: Saints Will Have A Top 5 Defense

Yes, you read that correctly. My first bold prediction is that the New Orleans Saints, a team notoriously known for struggling in some phase of defense, will have a top-five overall season.

Now in order for the Saints to have a top-five defense, they must rank in the top five of fewest total yardage allowed, total fewest points allowed, and most turnovers forced. It’d be tough but possible.

The New Orleans Saints haven’t ranked in the top five of any defensive category since 2013, but they have all the talent to change that trend in 2020. Cam Jordan, a five-time Pro Bowl defensive end, returns after a career year where he logged 15.5 sacks.

The Saints also brought in some fresh talent defensively with the signings of safety Malcolm Jenkins, cornerback Deatrich Nicols, and drafting of linebacker Zack Baun. This team should have unparalleled depth.

Those new faces with the returning stars in Demario Davis, Alex Anzalone, Marshon Lattimore, and Marcus Williams should propel the Saints into becoming a top-five defense once again.
