Number Three: Marcus Williams

Everyone knows who Marcus Williams is due to the infamous “Minneapolis Miracle” in the playoffs a few years back, but the Saints’ safety is far better than what he is perceived to be. Williams has been a three-year starting free safety for the Saints, and he has not disappointed.

In his three seasons as a starter, Williams has logged 187 tackles, two forced fumbles, 23 passes defended, ten interceptions, and one defensive touchdown. Marcus Williams has often saved touchdowns due to his incredible length and playmaking abilities.

Williams always seems to make plays when the Saints need it most. Williams oftentimes gets clutch fourth-quarter interceptions or pass breakups that will either end a drive or prevent a big play from happening.

Marcus Williams is an extremely underrated and is easily a top ten free safety in the entire NFL. He should continue to thrive as one of the up-and-coming budding stars for the team’s improved defense.
