The New Orleans Saints saved money with the release of Larry Warford and should now look to improve their cornerback play with those savings.

On a defense like the New Orleans Saints, who use six defensive backs more often than three linebackers, obtaining significant talent at the cornerback position obviously should be the main priority.

The Saints recently released three-time Pro Bowl offensive guard Larry Warford which frees up about eight million dollars in cap space. The Saints could very well (and should) use that extra cash to add some depth to the cornerback position.

The Saints currently have seven cornerbacks on the roster and five of them either are an undrafted free agent or have just one year left on their contract. That’s a scary position to put the team in following this season with so many linebackers also hitting the market.

The 2020 season is arguably the biggest season the Saints have had in a while as they’ll enter a top Super Bowl favorite. That said, here are three cornerbacks the Saints should sign that could help them hoist the Lombardi Trophy in February.
