Number Five: Ricky Ortiz

Ricky Ortiz is a six-foot-tall, 26-year-old fullback who has spent two seasons in the NFL on the rosters of the Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints.

Ortiz was brought in by the Saints late last season after an injury to starting fullback Zach Line forced him to miss the remainder of the season.

Ortiz has played in 13 career games logging four receptions for 19 yards. He is in direct competition with veteran fullback Michael Burton who was brought back to the organization this offseason.

Burton is likely to win the starting job due to his athleticism and his veteran presence. Burton has played in 65 career games logging nine receptions for 53 yards and a touchdown. Burton also has twelve special teams tackles in his career.

Ricky Ortiz is a good fullback but with it being Drew Brees’ likely last season, the Saints will likely move forward with a veteran at any and all costs.
