Number Two: Garrett Griffin

Garrett Griffin is a 6-foot-4, 26-year-old tight end for the New Orleans Saints. You may be wondering who he is, and that’s probably because he’s only played in three career games.

He has spent his entire career with the Saints, primarily on the practice squad, dating back to 2017. Griffin has just one reception for four yards in his career to go along with two kick returns for 23 yards.

He is directly competing with Pro Bowl tight end Jared Cook, trusty backup Josh Hill, and 2020 third-round pick from Dayton University Adam Trautman. Those will likely be the three tight ends the Saints keep on the roster, assuming they also use Hill in that role a bit as well.

If they keep any more than that, I will be very surprised.

Garrett Griffin is a solid tight end but he’s always been given the short end of the stick in his NFL career. He is a solid blocking tight end who can catch the ball as well. He would be a solid number two or three tight end for a needy team, but the Saints just aren’t a needy team.
