2. Crucial secondary depth

They say you can never have too many quality cornerbacks on your roster. And after a quick look at the receivers in the NFC South, that statement cannot be more true.

The Saints have one of the best cornerback duos in the league with Marshon Lattimore and Janoris Jenkins, but if one (or both) have to miss time at any given point next season, New Orleans may be in major trouble.

IF either were to go down, do you trust Patrick Robinson, PJ Williams, or Justin Hardee to come in as a replacement starter on the outside?

Because I sure don’t.

We all saw what happened when Lattimore had to miss time due to injury against the Atlanta Falcons and during the final plays against the Minnesota Vikings.

Lattimore is an essential part of the Saints defense, and while adding Jenkins to start opposite of him makes a very good combination, the focus needs to be on the lack of overall depth.

Adding Ryan to the mix can ease these concerns and give Dennis Allen at least three quality cornerbacks to work with. I think the Saints should think long and hard about how important Ryan could be to this team down the stretch.
