The New Orleans Saints cut ties with three-time Pro Bowl offensive guard late Friday afternoon after three years with the team.

This release comes as a surprise to many, as it seemed more likely for the Saints to find a trade partner to part with Warford instead. Schedule to make around $13 million, his salary certainly had an impact on which teams will target him.

It was virtually (no pun intended) no surprise Warford would be on the move following the Saints’ first-round selection of Cesar Ruiz in the 2020 NFL Draft, but everyone thought the Saints would at least be able to find a trade partner.

His salary was likely too much for even the neediest teams. However, he will certainly find a home soon. The former Pro Bowler is a top-20 guard in the entire league, but the Saints just have other obligations at the moment.

The release of Larry Warford automatically makes him one of the top remaining free agents in the 2020 class as he will look to find a new home. Here are five teams who will make a great fit with Larry Warford.
