DT, Derrick Brown – Carolina Panthers

The Carolina Panthers drafted the highest in the NFC South and because of that, they were able to draft the best defensive tackle in this year’s draft. Derrick Brown came out of the University of Auburn.

Brown had 12.5 sacks in four years with Auburn. He also totaled 170 tackles, 33.0 which came for a loss. He added eight passes defended, four fumble recoveries, and five forced fumbles in 46 games with the Tigers.

He is going to be a force on the Panters line come this next season. Fortunately, at least when he plays again the New Orleans Saints, he will be playing the best offensive line in the NFL. Nonetheless, he is definitely one of the biggest rookies to be worried about.

The NFC South only saw four offensive positions drafted in the entire draft. The NFC South defense dominated this draft. Therefore, the New Orleans Saints should be concerned about the change of pace for the offense going against better defenses.
