Number One: Alvin Kamara, Lose

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara enters the 2020 NFL season with far more to lose rather than to gain.

Kamara, 24, has already taken the league by storm with his incredible athleticism and unique running style. Kamara has already been given several awards and accolades including NFL Rookie of the Year in 2017 and three consecutive Pro Bowl nods.

Kamara can lose far more than he could gain in 2020. If Kamara doesn’t have a strong 2020 season, he will likely see a contract far lower than what he has been hoping to receive. That’s one reason star backs hold out.

It’s a big contract year in a declining running back market for Alvin Kamara and he needs to not only showcase to the Saints but to the entire NFL that he deserves to be paid amongst the highest in the NFL.

Alvin didn’t play like himself in 2019 as he struggled with injuries, garnering just 171 carries for 797 yards and five rushing touchdowns. He also logged 81 receptions for 533 yards and one receiving touchdown as basically the Saints’ best-receiving option aside from Michael Thomas.

In a season where Drew Brees has multiple weapons on the offense, the running back market is valued at an all-time low, and the Saints’ division rivals are competitive as ever, it will be hard for Kamara to have a stellar breakout season, therefore, giving him quite a bit to lose heading into the 2020 season.
