Number Three: Mike Williams

Mike Williams is a 6-foot-4 wide receiver who currently plays for the Los Angeles Chargers. Mike Williams was the seventh overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft after a great career at Clemson University.

Williams has gotten off to a slow start in his career but he looks to finally be getting on track. Injuries slowed down his progression early, and he had Phillip Rivers force-feeding Keenan Allen and Antonio Gates every chance he could that certainly didn’t help his numbers.

The lack of playing time and steady targets limited the ceiling of Mike Williams, but he is still just 25 years old. So far in his career, Williams has hauled in 103 receptions, 1,760 receiving yards, a yards per reception average of 17.1, 90 first downs, and 13 total touchdowns.

Mike Williams would be a great player to fill the number three spot on the Saints’ roster. Williams is starting to see consistent targets and stay on the field and it showed with his first career 1,000-yard season in 2019.

Williams is only 25 years old and he would get to play alongside Emmanuel Sanders and Michael Thomas with an unselfish Drew Brees passing the rock. This could be a good move for the Saints to make.
