New Orleans Saints: NFL still planning to release 2020 schedule this week
The NFL will reveal the New Orleans Saints’ schedule for the 2020 season in the coming week, one that is seemingly expected to start on time despite COVID-19’s impact.
While coronavirus is impacting the rest of the sport’s world, the NFL has continued somewhat normally. While the draft did have to be done virtually, it was all streamlined extremely well. That said, we’re going to find out the New Orleans Saints schedule on time.
Supposedly planning to release the schedule after the draft, according to the Associated Press, the league’s schedule release will go on despite the virus having shut down the bulk of entertainment in the United States.
According to the report, the league is supposed to kick off on Thursday, September 10 and will conclude on February 7 with the Super Bowl in Tampa. That said, there are still so many question marks regarding if the season will continue as planned.
We know the Saints won’t be doing summer workouts, and while other teams may still have them planned, the coronavirus’ continued presence could hamper plans. We still don’t know how the end-game of this virus will unfold.
After all, just take a look at the NBA, a league that had to suspend their season and could potentially cancel the last 15 or so games and move straight into a playoff either with or without fans in attendance.
That said, we also know the time and date that the schedule will be released. According to NFL Network’s James Palmer, the 2020 NFL schedule will be released on NFL Network. The official time of release is 8:00 PM EST and it will be released on Thursday.
While the actual teams that New Orleans will play this coming season have already been finalized and can be viewed on the team website here, it’s important to know the time and dates for these games.
With multiple potential shootout opponents including the Packers and Chiefs, expect a thrilling season for the New Orleans Saints.
