G, Larry Warford

Cap Hit: $12.875 million

How crazy would it be if I told you that one of the highest-paid New Orleans Saints’ player wasn’t even a starter on the team? You would be in confusion about how a backup could make so much money on a Super Bowl contending team right?

Cesar Ruiz, the New Orleans Saints’ first-round draft pick, has come in and caused a lot of questions for the Saints.

If he were to start immediately on the line, that would likely put Larry Warford out of a starting position given how the team recently re-signed Peat to such a large contract, putting their faith in his development.

No one is doubting the skillset of Warford because he is a Pro-Bowl caliber guard; however, there just isn’t room for all the talent the Saints have on the line to start at the same time. It would make more sense for Ruiz to hit the line and Warford to take a back seat.

With a cap hit of almost $13 million, the New Orleans Saints can’t afford for him to continue to be a part of the team. They could almost sign all their draftees with Warford’s contract alone. He should be traded by the start of next season.
