Wide Receiver

The wide receiver position for the New Orleans Saints was the position with the most need going into the offseason this year. Basically stated, Michael Thomas did enough production last season for the first three receivers combined.

The New Orleans Saints answered that call and went out and signed ex-Niners receiver Emmanuel Sanders in free agency. However, Sanders is only one guy and they still need a long-term solution to the problem.

Don’t forget, Emmanuel Sanders is going into his tenth season. He is getting past the point of prime in his career. He will be top quality for another couple of years, but after that, the Saints will need another answer to this problem.

Everyone thought that the first round of the NFL Draft would for sure see the Saints getting a wide receiver. However, in shocking fashion, they went with a lineman.

That is still leaving a gap at the wide receiver position that they will need to fill.
