QB, Taysom Hill

The quarterback position has been one of the most intriguing positions of the offseason for the New Orleans Saints. The team went into the offseason with all three quarterbacks as free agents and none being under contract.

Teddy Bridgewater departed after the re-signing of franchise quarterback Drew Brees. Taysom Hill was a restricted free agent and the Saints decided to place a first-round tender on him in hopes no one would offer that much.

Well, no one did and the Saints re-signed Hill to a 2-year $20 million deal. However, they also signed ex-Buccaneer Jameis Winston to a one-year deal. He is more likely to be the Brees-successor than Hill is.

The Saints selected quarterback Tommy Stevens in the seventh round of NFL Draft. He is a similar build and has a similar skillset to Taysom Hill. There is a good chance that Hill will be gone by next year.

The Saints have put all the pieces together. They found their Brees replacement. They draft another Hill style quarterback to replace him. Now, Hill has become expendable, especially for $10 million that he is reeling in per year.
