RB, Alvin Kamara

Alvin Kamara is an easy estimate.

The fact is after this season Kamara is set to make roughly $13.5 million per year. He will also be looking for a contract that is roughly four to five years in length to be solidified long-term. And, better yet, his production dipped as injuries increased last season.

There is a good chance that the New Orleans Saints 1) might not have the cap space to be able to cover a salary that big or 2) simply don’t want to spend the money in the capacity. They also have running back Latavius Murray under contract.

If it came to trading Kamara, Murray would be able to hold down the fort until the Saints were able to sign or draft a long term replacement for his position. This is all of course not even taking into account the possibility that Kamara sits out.

He could see this year as more of a liability without a new contract.

We have already seen Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon say he was willing to sit out until he got a new contract. Kamara could be set for the same thing — only time with tell.
