Number One: Brandon Aiyuk

Brandon Aiyuk is a six-foot-tall wide receiver who played his college football for the Arizona State Sun Devils.

Aiyuk turned the heads of NFL scouts when he logged a senior season of 65 receptions, 1,192 receiving yards, and eight touchdowns. Those numbers look good on paper, but the Saints need to avoid Aiyuk and here’s why.

Aiyuk has a small stature for a wide receiver in the NFL and although size doesn’t matter too much, it does if you’re on the Saints. Saints’ wide receivers in 2019 standing six feet tall or under combined for just 37 receptions.

Aiyuk would struggle to see consistent playing time, therefore, hindering his abilities.

Aiyuk also failed his physical he recently took. Aiyuk underwent core-muscle surgery in March and has yet to be cleared for football activities.

With the current limitations due to the national pandemic, the offseason could be affected giving him less time to get familiar with the team, the playbook, and his medical assistance.

Brandon Aiyuk is a solid player, but the Saints need a guy who can come in and help the team win now, not pass up on guys who will.
