Bleacher Report is doing a user-generated mock draft of this year’s NFL Draft and New Orleans Saints’ fans selected this defender.

In the latest mock draft put out by Bleacher Report, they let the fans decide who was going to take their teams to pick in the first round. The New Orleans Saints fans took to B/R and have made a decision; their pick is in.

The New Orleans Saints roster is so top-quality that there are no real glaring needs that the team needs to focus on entering the first round. The wide receiver would have fallen into that category, but after signing Emmanuel Sanders in free agency, that problem was solved.

While there are no glaring immediate needs, there is a position that stands above others as the weakest on the roster for several reasons. Linebackers have a history of getting injured and underperforming on the Saints roster.

Last year, the Saints were down to third-string linebackers and even signed back Manti T’eo as a result of the injuries. So fans spoke out and the player they want to draft in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft is … Patrick Queen from LSU.

Queen became a full-time starter on LSU in his junior year.

He didn’t start overly high on draft boards, but as time has progressed, Queen has become a mid to late first-round linebacker. The other linebacker to make waves with the Saints’ camp is Kenneth Murray from Oklahoma.

Murray was drafted by the New England Patriots one pick before the Saints in the B/R User Mock Draft. Therefore, the Saints went with Queen as he was the next best linebacker on the board.

Queen, in his junior year at LSU, totaled 85 tackles, 12.0 tackles for a loss, 3.0 sacks, and one interception. Queen was No. 4 in the SEC in tackles for a loss. He is a sneaky good pick in the latter part of the first round.

He would also be a welcomed addition to the linebacking core of the Saints. Whether to start or to give more quality depth, Queen would still be making an immediate impact on the New Orleans Saints and their roster.
