Number One: Chase Daniel

Chase Daniel is one of the most notable backup quarterbacks in the NFL.

He has always been known as a talented passer who can be very effective in a relief role. Daniel has made a good living in the NFL as a career backup, and the New Orleans Saints should have brought him back for a third stint.

Chase Daniel came into the NFL as a member of the New Orleans Saints and won a Super Bowl in his first season backing up Drew Brees.

Although Daniel never saw much of the field in his short stint, he was a sponge for knowledge and a great team player. Drew Brees has even regarded Chase Daniel as one of his favorite teammates ever.

Daniel would have been a great quarterback to bring in and help transition Brees out of the NFL and help mentor Taysom into the starting quarterback role.

The former Heisman Trophy finalist spent the past couple seasons as Mitchell Trubisky’s backup and has helped mentor him, although it hasn’t necessary worked as well at the Chicago Bears has hoped.

Daniel signed a three0year, 13.05 million dollar contract with the Detroit Lions, but a reunion in New Orleans would have made sense for both parties.
