The New Orleans Saints didn’t have too much money to spend this offseason, but they did spend it wisely, improving the roster’s weakest positions.

Although the New Orleans Saints picked up some much-needed talent in wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders and safety Malcolm Jenkins, they missed out on a couple of guys who would have been really solid signings.

As we entered the offseason almost a month ago, it was expected that the Saints would bring in a veteran quarterback to help assist Drew Brees and Taysom Hill, but it looks like they’ll opt to draft a young signal-caller instead.

I also thought the Saints would put more emphasis on the secondary to add some exceptional depth after losing Vonn Bell, a decision that seemed inevitable as time progressed and a new contract wasn’t in sight.

Although the Saints may have just missed out on some guys that would’ve been stellar additions, they certainly have nothing to hang their heads about as they’ll again be the east favorite for the NFC South.

That said, here’s a look at three players the Saints should have signed in free agency.
