Barnwell says, “Sean Payton’s team is one of many that have had virtual meetings with Jordan Love. ESPN’s projection suggests there’s still a 78% chance Love will be on the board at No. 17, but that mark falls all the way to 13% by the 24th selection.”

This trade would inevitably work out for the New Orleans Saints favor due to the needs that they have and how fast quarterbacks are going to fly off the board. Barnwell hit the nail on the head with the Saints needing a young, franchise quarterback that could take over for Brees.

If Love is their guy, they’ll make every move to trade up for him, but it will come at a cost. That cost is Nick Easton, and given their strength and depth on the offensive line, seeing this come to reality wouldn’t be overly shocking.

Here’s what Barnwell laid out.

The Saints currently have two quarterbacks on the roster. Whether it’s in the first round or fourth or even in free agency, this team will have to add another quarterback. Love, who has one of the most powerful arms in the draft, could be their top prospect.
