Round 6: #203 Overall

In the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, I have the New Orleans Saints selecting Trevon Hill, a defensive end from the University of Miami. Hill is a 6-foot-3, 248-pound defensive end from Miami who is known for his ability to get in the backfield.

Just like in round five, the Saints can pretty much do whatever they want with this pick.

This is the last pick for the Saints but they really don’t need much to fill out their top-tier roster. Due to the Saints’ love for rotating defensive lineman and using their strengths for certain play packages, I could see them selecting an edge rusher late, especially a solid one like Trevon Hill.

Hill had a great career in college between both Virginia Tech and Miami compiling 121 tackles, 64 solo tackles, 29.5 tackles for a loss, 16 sacks, two passes defended, one forced fumble, two fumbles recovered, and one interception.

He was dismissed from Virginia Tech after a fiery exchange his junior year with a coach but transferred to Miami the following season to play for the Hurricanes.

Trevon Hill is a very good defensive end who can get steady and reliable pressure on opposing quarterbacks. In normal drafts, you don’t see this kind of talent available this late and he would be an incredible steal for Sean Payton and the Saints.

If the Saints select Hill and he plays well, the team could afford to let Trey Hendrickson walk in free agency following the 2020 season which helps the team save money. If Trevon Hill is available in the sixth round, the Saints should snag him.
