Third Trade Scenario:

This third and final trade scenario is a bit far fetched I will admit, but it could make sense if you think about it. I could see the Saints offering the Rams running back Alvin Kamara for Brandin Cooks and a 2020 Rams second-round pick.

It seems crazy…I know…but just hear me out.

The Rams recently released running back Todd Gurley who eventually signed with the Atlanta Falcons. They will need help at the running back position.

The Saints are in a bit of sticky contract situation next season with the bulk of their linebacking corp on the current roster set to hit the market and Marshon Lattimore and Ryan Ramczyk are also still in need of a long term deal.

Alvin Kamara is set to enter the whirlpool of contract decisions the Saints have to make in 2021 and it might be easier to move on from the running back. Kamara is a three-time Pro Bowler and the Saints could really use that to their advantage.

The Saints could acquire an additional draft pick and draft a rookie running back who could put up great numbers as well. The Saints have one of the best offensive lines in the NFL and they have Latavius Murray under contract for three more seasons.

The running back market is slowly declining so the Saints should try to score on a deal while they still can.
