First Trade Scenario:

The first trade scenario I could see has the Saints offering a 2021 second-round pick to the Rams in exchange for Brandin Cooks.

The Rams have been very vocal about wanting a second-round pick for Brandin Cooks but the New Orleans Saints do not own a second-round pick until the 2021 NFL Draft.

If the Rams cannot find any suitors for this year’s draft, I could see the Saints offering up their 2021 second-round pick to land a great receiving talent who has already proven what he can accomplish in the NFL.

While the cap would be tight, the Saints have always maneuvered to add talent that they deem necessary.

Brandin Cooks is certainly worth a second-round pick as he became the first player in NFL history to record 1,000 receiving yards in three different years with three different teams.

The Saints are in win-now mode and by trading away next year’s second-round pick they can use the 2020 NFL Draft to address their defensive needs.
