The New Orleans Saints addressed their wide receiver need temporarily with Emmanuel Sanders but should look to acquire some long term assistance.

The Pro Football Talk recently reported that LA Rams wide receiver Brandin Cooks was available for trade and both sides seem to be eager to get a deal done as the New Orleans Saints could use the security of a long-term asset aside from Michael Thomas.

Brandin Cooks is a 26-year-old wide receiver who has been a very good number two receiver in his career. Cooks has been bitten by the injury bug a little bit in his career thus far but has played great when healthy.

A former first-round pick by the New Orleans Saints, Cooks will look to find a new home for the 2020 season and beyond.

That said, the Saints signed Emmanuel Sanders to a two-year contract, providing temporary help alongside Michael Thomas. He was a huge get as Sanders will finally give Brees a second dynamic receiver.

Trading for Brandin Cooks would provide a reliable number two wide receiver to team up with Michael Thomas through the 2023 season. Here’s a look at three trade scenarios the Saints could propose to the Rams.
