Steven Montez: University of Colorado

Steven Montez is a 6-foot-4, 231-pound signal-caller who played his college football at the University of Colorado. Montez, 23, is a very good pro-style quarterback who has the ability to throw with touch regardless of the depth of the receiver.

Montez didn’t have much talent surrounding him at Colorado, given their unimpressive record in an elite Pac-12 conference, but still managed to put together an impressive stat line.

Montez completed 62.4 percent of his passes for 9,710 yards. He also tossed 63 touchdowns to go along with his 33 interceptions. He also ran the ball 343 times for 960 yards and eleven touchdowns over the span of his college career.

Montez was a three-year starting quarterback at Colorado and earned an invitation to the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine. Montez ran a 4.68 forty yard dash, 7.28 L-Cone, and a 4.43 twenty yard shuttle. Montez also recorded a 33-inch vertical jump and a 117-inch broad jump.

Montez could be a good fit in New Orleans and would be able to polish his decision making under the guidance of Drew Brees and Sean Payton.
