Jalen Hurts: Oklahoma

Jalen Hurts is a 6-foot-1, 222-pound signal-caller who played his college football for Alabama and Oklahoma. It’s hard to value the market for a guy like Jalen Hurts. Hurts played great in college, but many analysts believe his skill set will not transfer over into the NFL level.

I tend to disagree with those analysts.

Jalen Hurts has the ability to make every throw necessary and is mobile enough to extend plays and move the chains.

Hurts went 38-4 as a starting quarterback in college and has always been a winner at the collegiate level. Hurts has played in four College Football Championship games which is something not many players can say they accomplished.

The Heisman Trophy runner-up completed over 65 percent of his passes in his career for 9,477 yards. Hurts also tossed 80 touchdowns while throwing just 20 interceptions. Hurts also proved his agility with his 614 carries for 3,274 yards and 43 rushing touchdowns.

Yes, you read that correctly.

Hurts also hauled in five receptions for 40 yards and a touchdown. There’s not a single team in the NFL that shouldn’t want the services of a player who scored 124 touchdowns in college, playing for some of the NCAA’s best programs.

Hurts also managed to run a 4.59 forty yard dash and had a 35-inch vertical jump. He had a 125-inch broad jump at the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine.

I would love to see Jalen Hurts on the New Orleans Saints and compete as Drew Brees’ heir. Jalen Hurts has the potential to be the best quarterback in the draft but his numbers are being outshined by other guys’ physical stature and resume.
