Xavier McKinney, DB, Alabama

Xavier McKinney is a 6-foot-1 speedy cornerback and safety out of the University of Alabama. As a junior, McKinney anchored the Crimson Tide secondary with Trevon Diggs. He speeds to fly around the field makes him a ball hawk in the back of the field.

He has unreal quickness to close in on the ball and at 200lb has a strong physique to tackle with. McKinney comes with amazing instincts to read the offense and the quarterback on every play he is on the field. He is a strong, versatile safety that can change a defense.

McKinney doesn’t have much to be negative about. The worst thing about McKinney is that he is not really exceptional at most of those categories. He ranges in the higher percentile, but he is not elite in those areas. This is me trying to reach for cons.

McKinney could be an excellent and versatile addition to the Saints defense. He could play the cornerback position alongside Lattimore or he could play alongside Vonn Bell at the safety position. Either way, he would help anchor down the defense.
