LB, Chase Hansen

Right now, Kaden Elliss is backing up Chase Hansen at the starting linebacker position. However, linebacker is one of the positions that the New Orleans Saints need to be targeting in the NFL Draft to create depth and talent there.

If they go with a linebacker in the first round, that could move Chase Hansen, who is a rookie, to the backup role and the draftee into the starting role or leave Hansen in the starting role and move the draftee to the backup.

They could also move it around the other way and release Chase Hansen. Both of them only have 2019 experience in the NFL. Both are not starting linebacker material, and both could be just as expendable as one another.

The key to this decision is that Kaden Elliss has experience in the NFL and Chase Hansen doesn’t. Last year, Elliss, due to other injuries, saw three games of action while Hansen is yet to record a single stat in the NFL.
