Re-signed Andrus Peat: C

Andrus Peat is a 6-foot-7, 315-pound offensive guard.

Peat was drafted by the Saints in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft after playing his collegiate ball at Stanford. He has played with the team ever since.

Injuries have limited the potential of Andrus Peat, but when he’s healthy, he is one of the better guards in the NFL. Peat has the ability to play both guard and tackle and is a versatile athlete.

Peat, a two-time Pro Bowler, has started 60 of 65 games in his career. Peat was signed to a five-year deal worth 57.5 million dollars raising the eyebrows of many Saints fans. Peat is a solid player, but the Saints overpaid for his services.

The Saints clearly wanted to keep the same offensive line for Drew Brees and they overpaid to do so. Peat was the worst-graded starter for New Orleans according to Pro Football Focus so this kind of money did come as a surprise.
