New Orleans Saints: 3 offseason questions that still need to be answered
Number One: Alvin Kamara’s Contract Extension
There is absolutely no question about the level of productivity New Orleans Saints’ running back Alvin Kamara has had in his three NFL seasons.
The Saints are a completely different team without Kamara in the mix, and it really raises the question on when Kamara is expected to get a deal.

We saw star wide receiver Michael Thomas get paid and go on to have the best season by a wide receiver in NFL history and it makes me wonder what the Saints are waiting for.
Yes, money is a bit of an issue for the Saints right now, but if they sign him to a long-term deal they could give him more money in future years to help ease the pain right now.
The Saints offense isn’t nearly as effective without Alvin Kamara and they need to ink him to a deal before a potential hold out is in place. The three-time Pro Bowler has been unstoppable in his career scoring 41 total touchdowns while accumulating over 5,000 all-purpose yards.
Scoring 41 touchdowns in three seasons is nothing to underestimate. Although the running back market is rapidly declining, Sean Payton loves Kamara and would likely pay him a little more to keep him in town.
The Saints need to prioritize signing Alvin Kamara to a healthy contract before it’s too late. However, expect the recently-declining running back to hurt Kamara’s value.
