Vonn Bell

Vonn Bell is by far the biggest name on the list of players still not to make a decision. Saints’ fans at first were in no doubt that they wanted to keep Bell. However, the addition of Malcolm Jenkins changes things a little bit.

Jenkins brings a veteran presence with knowledge of the coach, the team, and the defense. Jenkins arguably played better than Bell last season; the only thing he doesn’t have going for him is his age.

The New Orleans Saints also have to pay safety Marcus Williams next year. Both of them are finishing up their rookie contracts looking to cash in on their first big payday. However, it is in the best interest of Bell to leave New Orleans.

As much as that pains me to say, with Williams, Jenkins, and Bell all on the roster, the Saints are going to be paying way too much for a bench safety. Therefore, the Saints need to let Bell leave and sign where he can thrive.
