Malcolm Jenkins

Lastly, Malcolm Jenkins was another fantastic signing for the New Orleans Saints. The dilemma was the Vonn Bell was coming off of his rookie contract looking to cash in big, rightfully so, on his talents. Jenkins is winding down his prime and took less money.

However, Jenkins already knows the offense having spent the first years of his career playing under Sean Payton and with Drew Brees and the Saints’ defense. Arguably, Jenkins was even better with Philadelphia than Bell was last year in New Orleans.

Jenkins might not be the long term solution due to his age, but he is still capable of giving the Saints three or four quality years to groom a replacement. The New Orleans Saints made a signing in which they didn’t give up any talent but spent less money.

All three of these signings move the New Orleans Saints to a position to be serious Super Bowl contenders again next year. Hopefully, these guys can pull through and we can see the team lift another Lombardi trophy.
