They did it. The New Orleans Saints signed Emmanuel Sanders.
The New Orleans Saints sent a message to the NFL that they are gearing up for a Super Bowl after signing veteran wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders to a two year, $16 million contract on March 20th.
Emmanuel Sanders gives the Saints exactly what they needed, a number two wide receiver to pair alongside 2019 NFL Offensive Player of the Year Michael Thomas. Playing for San Fran last season, the Saints never really seemed like a huge contender given their cap limitations.
The two-time Pro-Bowler brings with him a level of leadership that the wide receiver position on the Saints is lacking.
He also brings a level of mentorship to help show the younger receivers the ropes. Sanders is more than just a wide receiver; he’s an unbelievable athlete who is a stellar person both on and off the field.
Emmanuel Sanders will be crucial in helping the New Orleans four-peat as the champions of the NFC South and beyond. That said, let’s dive into three reasons why this signing is so critical.
