New Orleans Saints’ Eli Apple is out. Now, where do they turn for cornerback help?

Former New Orleans Saints cornerback Eli Apple signed with the Las Vegas Raiders on March 18, 2020, which leaves the Saints in need of another starting cornerback opposite of Marshon Lattimore.

Apple, 24, started fifteen games for the Saints last year, accumulating 58 tackles and four passes defended with zero interceptions. He was harped on as one of the more efficient No. 2s, but Apple had his elite moments.

Penalties also became habitual from Eli Apple as he became known as a guy who would often hold or interfere with opponents, giving up easy yardage.

The Saints seem to be wanting to bring in reliable veterans to help make a push at the Super Bowl with Drew Brees still at the helm, and they don’t want to waste their time with players who just aren’t cutting it.

Despite the lack of production, Apple’s presence still leaves a hole to be filled in the New Orleans secondary. Here is a list of three candidates who could fill that void for the New Orleans Saints.
