Chase Daniel

Chase Daniel might not be that high-profile, but he is for the position of backup quarterback which is what he was needed for.

Rumors are swirling around Teddy Bridgewater. It was reported yesterday that Bridgewater and the New Orleans Saints were still in talks with one another about Teddy staying as the Saints back up next year.

However, things are now over as Teddy Bridgewater is nearing a deal with divisional rival Carolina Panthers after they told Cam Newton that he can seek a deal. Last year, third-string quarterback Taysom Hill only threw three passes.

Hill is also more of a receiving and wildcat threat then he is stepping in at quarterback. Therefore, the New Orleans Saints are going to be in need of a true full-time backup quarterback. Chase Daniel could have been that guy at the right price.

Daniel ended up signing a deal for $4.35 million per year for three years. That is exactly what the New Orleans Saints needed. However, we are still stagnant with no deals on a backup quarterback as of yet.
