Amari Cooper

There is no secret that the New Orleans Saints are in need of a wide receiver. Michael Thomas saw over 40% of Drew Brees’ passes over the course of the year. For a single receiver, that is an absurd number to deal with.

The Saints knew going into the offseason that they were going to need to get a wide receiver. Amari Cooper was a high-profile name that was consistently being associated with the Saints as a trade partner or a signee.

Now, it is neither. Cooper re-signed with the Dallas Cowboys. Therefore, the New Orleans Saints missed out on one of the biggest wide receiver profiles in this year’s free agency period to pair with Michael Thomas.

Last year, Cooper caught 79 passes for 1,189 yards and 8 touchdowns. That is the kind of production that the Saints need. However, they missed out on this opportunity, next time, they will have to be more prepared.
