The first day of contract negotiations left the entire world of football stunned, but what did the New Orleans Saints miss out on?

The New Orleans Saints were expected to make a splash this offseason. With multiple gaps that need to be filled and has over 20 free agents, the Saints were bound to make the news at some point in this year’s offseason.

The offseason kicked off on March 16th. From the 16th to the 18th, teams can begin negotiating contracts with pending unrestricted free agents. By the end of this period, teams must also make qualifying offers to any of the restricted free agents they wish to maintain right of first refusal on.

At the end of the two day period, the NFL’s free agency period will officially be open. The New Orleans Saints have plenty of talent to seek out in a loaded free agency. However, they didn’t make a move in the first couple of days outside of re-signing David Onyemata.

Because of that, the Saints ended up losing out on multiple high-level, game-changing talented players to teams that were ready to offer what they wanted. Whether it was through trade or signing, the Saints saw several players they could have used fall out of their grip.

Here are the top players the Saints have missed out on so far.
