Number Three: Draft a Sliding Star

The New Orleans Saints could be shopping their 24th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft as we speak, but if they can’t find a worthy partner then they could opt to stay right where they’re at and draft a superstar who is sliding down the draft boards.

We see it every year, a top ten or top fifteen player who ends up falling late into the first round before a team ends up taking a chance on them and thanking their lucky stars they did. We’ve seen it with guys like Derwin James, Laremy Tunsil, and Lamar Jackson in recent drafts, and there is no doubt we will see it happen again this year.

A potential candidate to fall down the draft boards this year is Alabama signal-caller Tua Tagovailoa. Tua is coming off a season-ending hip injury but was seen as a top candidate coming into this year.

With his injury being very severe and guys like Jordan Love and Justin Herbert rising up draft boards, the Saints may be lucky enough to snag Tua with their 24th overall spot.

I know it’s a bit far fetched but I could genuinely see teams being concerned about the health of Tua and opting to take someone else instead although Tua’s recent healthy reports came back positive.
