7-seeded playoffs

The first of big three changes to come from the new NFL CBA is a restructuring of the current playoffs. Right now, the one and two seeds get a bye and the three through six seeds play in Wild Card weekend.

Under the new CBA, the playoff structure is going to be adding a seventh team into the mix. This is only going to give the first seed in each division a bye and the two through seven seeds will play on Wild Card weekend as of this upcoming year.

The New Orleans Saints have never been a team in recent history that has been considered to barely make the playoffs. They made it as a three seed in the playoffs last year after going 13-3 in the regular season.

However, going into next year in what could be Drew Brees’ last year ever, it gives the Saints a wider margin to work with in order to make it into the playoffs and hopefully send Drew Brees out with a Super Bowl victory in his last year.
