New Orleans Saints: 3 sleeper picks to keep an eye on
Linebacker, Logan Wilson
Logan Wilson is a 6-foot-2, 250-pound linebacker from the University of Wyoming. Wilson isn’t talked about nearly enough despite his staggering college football numbers.
Wilson had 409 tackles, 34.5 tackles for a loss, seven sacks, ten interceptions, 14 passes defended, five forced fumbles, four fumbles recovered, and three defensive touchdowns in his four-year college career.
His 409 tackles rank third all-time in MWC history, and his 249 career solo tackles ranks second all-time in MWC history. Wilson, 23, entered Wyoming as a safety but his lack of athleticism forced him to move to linebacker.
Wilson is still athletic though as his results at the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine proved his point. Wilson ran a 4.63 40-yard dash to go along with his 4.27 20-yard shuttle time and his 7.07 three-cone drill time.
Wilson also showed his athleticism by knocking out 21 bench press reps and jumping 32 inches in the vertical jump. Wilson is an aggressive linebacker who would be a great fit on a linebacker-needy New Orleans defense.
Wilson reminds me a lot of current Saints linebacker Kiko Alonso, and Wilson being selected by the Saints could see him replacing the aging veteran.
